There seems to be some funny glitch with the Penn Sunday School software that my current response to Ted's post keeps getting deleted from his blog area. Cyan? Could you check this glitch? I am unwilling to believe a man like Ted, committed to freedom, would delete my comments and requests for some simple additional information. So I'm forced to conclude it's buggy software. Hey, happens. Anyway, I screen cap'd what I posted:
Not sure why this keeps vanishing from Ted's blog. Luckily I just didn't screen cap my response but I also saved the text. So, I'll try posting my latest response on my blog here and see if this odd glitch happens here. Anyway, this is a follow up to Ted's response you can see in my screen cap:
What threatens sovereignty and independence is the acceptance of the measure and the recognition of the foreign body that will come to enforce it.
Which foreign body? Who is making plans to recognize this foreign body?
It is not the job of the government to rule people or to educate them or to do anything of the kind. The proper role of government is to see to it that people's rights are protected, that Liberty is protected. This is the thing that made America the greatest nation ever before seen on the face of the earth -- without doubt and without question. It was the first time in world history a political system was founded on Individual Rights.
It seems to me there's never been a time in American history that the US government was not unduly intervening in the lives of its citizenry, trying to educate them or rule them in some way. America is still great. It might have got there in spite of that or from a mix of freedom and paternalism.
They brought in abominations and criminal organizations such as the United Nations,
How is the UN a criminal organization? Define criminal organization. Most large organizations are going to have dishonest people who commit crimes in the name of the organization. That does not necessarily make the organization itself criminal.
Socialism is parasitism, Karl. You have done it for so long that it has become a way of life for you and for your kind.
Who is my kind? What do you know about my kind?
All rational and critical thinking has gone out the window and you can no longer think objectively. You believe in rash, stupid things.
I am asking questions, asking you for evidence to support your position. You've failed to answer these questions. Last time I checked, asking critical questions and asking for evidence to back claims is part of critical thinking. Please show me where my critical thinking abilities fall down. What rash, stupid things do I believe in? Define "rash" and "stupid".
Your mind is so far gone now that you think government is there to care for you and everyone else from the cradle to the grave, that government is the solution to literally all of your problems.
Are you speaking of me personally? If so, how did you arrive at this sweeping generalization?
Freedom, Independence, Sovereignty, the independent, thinking, critical mind -- has given you literally everything that is good in your life. Government has given you everything that is bad in your life. It is in fact that simple and it is irrefutable. Liberty is perfection. Government is, by its very nature, evil and can be nothing else.
Governments have given me roads and pretty good health care in Canada. I don't seem to have given up undue amounts of freedom. Maybe the free market could have provided those better. But they don't seem bad, to me. Please define "bad".
