Right or wrong, I tend to measure a person's maturity based on the kind of guns they own. Owning a gun for mass destruction screams someone who is insecure and probably the last person I would trust with an automatic weapon. Unless they are in the military and then they do not take those guns home with them, there is no reason to put the rest of us at risk of becoming victims of gun violence. Too many people are so gun insecure. So few crimes are prevented by automatic weapons that could have also had good results with the standard handgun.
It is just a terrible crime to allow these guns on the streets because gun makers cannot make enough money just selling the typical gun models. Those high powered weapons are only attractive to a certain group of people who again, I feel are the last people who should be in possession of such dangerous weapons. This street idea that, oh, we sell them so they will just kill each other, is ridiculous. Too many innocent people are dying needlessly because of these guns being in the wrong hands. We can stop this, when life starts to really be a precious commodity instead of something you just sell and trade on the market.

Comment by Captain Snarky on February 20, 2013 at 6:10pm The Second Amendment means just what it says. Even fully-automatic weapons apply.
Private gun ownership of ANY kind is simply not up for negotiation.
Anyone talking any kind of gun control whatsoever is a raving fucking lunatic who needs to be locked up in an insane asylum and it must be forgotten that people like these even exist.
The idea behind the Second Amendment is quite simple, folks... the People, the Individuals, if they are to keep a free State of being, must in fact be enabled to outgun their government.
May your chains rest lightly upon you. Enjoy the slavery and servitude all of you are begging for - and getting more and more of with every day that passes.
